Incumbent may be required to perform duties in either the Intermediate Care Facility for the Mentally Retarded (ICF-MR) or the Intermediate Care Facility for the Developmentally Disabled (ICF-DD) area of Montana Developmental Center. Employee may be required to change shift and/or days off temporarily to accommodate facility needs.
Montana Developmental Center is a smoke-free/tobacco-free facility. Incumbent is required to refrain from tobacco use during the work shift. In addition, MDC is a fragrance free facility.
Current certification of freedom from tuberculosis is required. A skin test will be provided by Montana Developmental Center for persons able to use this test.
Criminal Background Check :
Will be conducted on all successful candidates. The criminal record will be reviewed to determine whether the applicant has been convicted of any criminal acts related to the responsibilities of the prospective job.

Duties:
A. Develops/implements and enforces policies, procedures, work methods, and job priorities for the preparation, administration, and retention of client records, which are legal and confidential documents, in accordance with statutory requirements, state and federal regulations, and health standards. B. Evaluates staff members assigned to the Client Records Department through regular performance planning, corrective counseling, and disciplinary procedures. C. Initiates and oversees the notification and/or distributes information to community staff, private providers, attorneys, the courts, and others as required by statute or policy and as necessary for the provision of aftercare services. D. Supervises the analysis of client records and coding of diagnostic findings and treatment activities to provide information to submit to third party payers in order to receive proper and full reimbursement for MDC. E. Monitors department expenditures to ensure that authorized budget allocations are not exceeded. F. Performs all work tasks in a proper and safe manner following established policies, general safety rules and safe operating procedures. G. Cooperates with other staff and demonstrates respect for other employees which contributes to a positive and efficient working environment. H. Complies with Department, Division and Unit policy and/or direction and consults, as needed or required, with supervisors to obtain clarification or address concerns. I. Within the limits of training and abilities, acts to protect facility clients from immediate harm in any observed or known perilous situation where potential for injury or death is clear.

Must hold credential of a Registered Record Administrator (RRA) or Accredited Record Technician (ART) by passing a national exam offered through the American Health Information Management Associates (AHIMA)
