Contact business and consumer customers by phone to collect delinquent unsecured credit card accounts. Provide excellent customer service and suppo! rt to credit card customers and internal customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Work on assigned groups of delinquent accounts.

Contact cardholders by telephone to resolve credit problems.

Work with internal bankers on collection process.

Negotiate arrangements with cardholders to bring accounts current.

Send delinquent letters to customers according to established guidelines.

Conduct research to locate delinquent account holders utilizing skip tracking tools.

File all documentation with state and federal agencies in a timely manner.

Work with outside collection agencies and credit reporting bureaus.

Assign charge off accounts to collection agency or attorneys and compile monthly charge off reports.

Maintain and compile various reports on delinquent loans and collection activities.

Prepare documentation on bankruptcy claims.

Assist! risk manager in assessing risk of customers.

Provide! customer service to customers.

Perform other banking duties as required.

Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 1 â€" 3 years of previous collection experience or customer related experience preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Applicants must have strong computer skills to include working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word. Must have strong organization skills and the ability to arrange information and files in a useful manner. Must have strong problem solving skills including the ability to interpret data and provide solutions. Mu! st have strong negotiation skills and ability to work in a team environment. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to write reports business correspondence and manuals. Ability to effectively respond to questions from managers, employees and customers. Ability to read, analyzes, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be able to work with moderate mathematical concepts. Must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions fu! rnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
