System Claim Specialist

This individual will be responsible to investigate, evaluate, and resolve all Property and Casualty claims and Potentially Compensable Events (PCE) involving the System and Care Site organizations in accordance with industry Best Practices. Individual will have a detailed knowledge of Hospital Professional Liability, Physician Professional Liability, Commercial General Liability, Executive Directors and Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, and other collateral lines insurance policy coverage provi! sions and exclusions to evaluate the availability of coverage ! for an event or occurrence. Individual will manage and direct the litigation process with external counsel to achieve an optimal outcome for the individual case. Individual will manage the financial resources of SCLHS by efficiently coordinating the activity on litigated claims and provide superior claim services to claimants, the System Office, Care Sites, and excess insurance/reinsurance carriers.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Describe the education (degrees and majors) and prior work experience required: 
College Degree or equivalent experience in business discipline, legal discipline, or clinical care area. 
Five (5) years experience in claim operations environment, or equivalent experience, handling complex Property and Casualty Claims with focus on: Medical Professional, General Liability, Legal Professional, Directors and Officers Liability, and Employment Practices L! iability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
Describe the most important knowledge, skills and competencies required by the position: 
Technical knowledge of Healthcare Medical Professional, General Liability, Legal Professional, Directors and Officers Liability, and Employment Practices Liability claim investigation, evaluation, and resolution techniques. 
Knowledge of human anatomy and medical procedures. 
Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
Customer focus. 
Ability or understand and apply System policies and procedures as required. 
Ability to analyze large qualities of information/data. 
Ability to prioritize and organize work. 
Ability to work in remote or virtual setting with minimal direct supervision. 
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, customers, attorneys, and claimants. 
Ability to establish credibility an! d trust with coworkers, customers, attorneys, and claimants. 
