Job Overview:
This position functions as a lead worker for Vehicle Services Bureau staff. The incumbent answers questions and solves paperwork issues for section staff; assigns, distributes, and oversees daily work; provides supervisor with information on staff performance and training needs; and maintains equipment and reference materials. This bureau is responsible for providing motor vehicle titling, registration, licensing requirements and products to business partners. The lead worker is responsible for other transactions including void ownership, non-sufficient fund revocations, managing discretionary edits, work-in-progress (WIP), child support liens, total loss paperwork, judgments, junking transactions; and reconciling daily financials. The lead worker is also responsible for creating staffing schedules and training guides. The incumbent must be able to effectively communicate (verbally, in writing and by telephone) with co-workers and customers. The incumbent must have the ability to learn access and apply the rules, laws, policies and procedures applicable to the work, and must have the ability to provide instruction to others on correct processes and procedures.

Qualifications:
Qualifications:
  • One year using a computer to perform a variety of word processing, database, and other business software applications and programs
  • Two years reviewing, verifying, and processing documents
  • One year working with the public
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with Montana Statutes
    • Experience certifying title transactions
    • Experience instructing or training staff
    • Experience with bookkeeping (receiving fees for transactions; working with funds received, recording, balancing)
