We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a CLM Associate, Business Implementation, ASP.

Principal Responsibilities

Role Context

  • Provide business management & administrative support to CLM Head and team leads
  • Take the lead in business planning activities and coordinate across relevant teams / functions in implementing process streamlining and work flow enhancements impacting CLM processes, engaging with other key stakeholders during implementation of new procedures, ensuring requirements and concerns of all departments are considered and addressed
  • Improve processes and service quality, working closely with CLM and key stakeholders to identify problem statements and provide solutions to make adjustments and improvements, minimize waste and duplication
  • Engage in data analytics and trends analysis to provide credible Management Information (MI) on productivity, risk management, quality management etc
  • Focal point of contact for all Compliance, Internal Control, Risk Management, Audit, Legal and Operations issues for the CLM team
  • Manage the team BCP planning and contingencies

Impact to the business

  • Support the roll-out and embedding of the CDD/KYC/AML initiatives and other Process and Policy change initiatives and the effective and consistent operationalization across markets in Asia
  • Collaborate and input to the design of global processes and controls ensuring local requirements are considered, while adhering to Group and Global Standards to maintain a robust AML/KYC framework
  • Support the local adaption and roll-out of global policies, ensuring consistent application and roll-out of processes and procedures for Asia and Asian business users
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in overall Client Onboarding Lifecycle Management model e.g. challenge the conventional ways of working and drive change to improve process efficiency and effectiveness and client experience
  • Actively engage in project and provide SME requirements to influence design and functional requirements; challenge stakeholders to ensure decisions are well thought out and meet business needs which can be executed with operational pragmatism
  • Provide executive level business management reporting and metrics to measure efficiency and success factors
  • Owns the inventory of client documentation which CLM has ownerships for maintenance

Leadership and Teamwork

  • Support the Regional Head to manage a robust People and Operating model in line with strategic initiatives and provide guidance and support to country teams to align with business needs
  • Manage team performance against key productivity metrics, performance objectives and continuous best practise sharing, helping the team to consistently deliver high productivity and quality standards in KYC reviews in adherence to global and local policies and guidelines
  • Ensure effective coordination and collaboration across CLM functions in Asia region
  • Promote best practise sharing and cultivate a team approach culture

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Regular interactions with a wider range of frontline stakeholders eg market heads, desk heads, bankers, client services executives, and work with relevant Compliance and Risk stewards to ensure processes and procedural changes are fit for purpose while meeting regulatory requirements
  • Build strong relationships with key Group-wide and GPB individuals and at all levels across the 1st and 2nd line of defence to ensure decisions are effectively and completely undertaken in a comprehensive, timely and fair manner for our customers

Management of Risk

  • Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards and policies
  • Provide support on Issue Management, risk escalation and remediation pertaining to CDD/KYC/AML controls

Observation of Internal Controls

  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
Requirements
  • Years of experience in financial services industry or private banks or wealth management necessary
  • Advantage if have prior content knowledge around CDD and AML, and strong risk and control awareness
  • Agile project delivery experience with good stakeholder management experience, especially impactful communication, change management and benefits realization
  • Strong analytical capabilities and learning ability, can quickly adapt to deal with new disciplines/projects and dig deeper into relevant business and IT knowledge
  • A confident and effective communicator with clear articulation of the problem statement and solutions, which includes ability to navigate through business requirements, ability to involve others in discussions of alternatives, asking for their suggestions and steering them to a mutually acceptable position
  • A positive and highly organized self-starter
  • Team player but with the ability to operate without direction when required
  • Excellent in written and spoken English, and can communicate comfortably in full English environment
  • Able to work proactively and under pressure against multiple deadlines. Feeling comfortable to manage multiple projects/tasks at any time
