The Consumer PR, Brand activation and Social team builds awareness and deeper understanding of what the Specsavers brand stands for in consumer spaces, by holding consumer’s attention and generating engagement to build mental availability. It does this via audience first storytelling, on and offline. The team spans consumer PR, experiential, partnerships, brand activations and social media. It’s a core part of the marketing services function and is responsible for delivering content owned, earned and paid channels. The team looks after these channels for the UK, ROI and Spain and advises our wider global teams on their strategies.
This role can be based in Guernsey, or remotely within the UK and ROI. This is a full-time role and we’re happy to talk flexible working! This is a fixed-term contract until September 2024.
Your purpose
As Consumer PR & Social Media Manager for ROI & UK Regions (London, Scotland), you’ll report into the Consumer PR, Social Media & Brand Activation Lead and will be accountable for the
development, distribution, and performance of always-on and campaign activity for our key UK regions and ROI. You’ll be the main point of contact for our ROI PR & social media agencies and store partners, and work closely alongside local and ROI strategy teams, field marketing teams, media connections and insights, to ensure business briefs are translated into audience first campaign activations and always on content with earned thinking at its core, delivering impact and audience engagement, ensuring outputs are industry leading.
Your role
- Own the annual plan brief and response to brief for ROI, Scotland and London plans, from planning through to sign off, working closely with the PR and Social agencies to deliver an integrated plan that meets the ROI’s and regions’ specific objectives
- Accountability for the day-to-day management, content creation and sign off of ROI, Scotland and London PR & social plans; ensuring all in line with key messaging/TOV/guidelines and is industry leading/innovative where possible
- Being the main point of contact for PR & social agencies and internal stakeholders for ROI, Scotland and London
- Developing ad-hoc Social/PR specific briefs that fall outside of annual planning, ensuring they meet over-arching objectives and overseeing activation of paid social media campaigns
What you’ll bring
- Extensive, broad marketing experience, particularly in PR, social media and brand activation, with a solid understanding of the social media and PR landscape
- Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
- Experience in shaping marketing strategy and working cross channel
- Ability to manage and work across multiple (and possibly remote) teams
- Confident communicator with strong presentation skills
