Duties:
The Administrative Law Judge position is responsible for conducting administrative hearings in contested cases. The duties include: conducting and directing all aspects of hearings; ruling on various motions; researching issues; and issuing proposed and final hearing decisions pursuant to statute and administrative rule.

Competencies:Required for the first day of work:
Extensive knowledge of legal research and analysis methods;
Knowledge of state and federal child support law and administrative law and procedures;
Ability to make sound judgmen! ts;
Skill in legal writing and analysis;

Ability to meet deadlines and set priorities.
Education/Experience:
Juris Doctorate;
Five years of progressively responsible experience in the practice of law, one year of which must be in family law;
License to practice law in the State of Montana.
Preferred:
Experience in child support, family, administrative, and/or creditor-debtor law.
