Position Summary:
This position requires an extensive background and expertise in managing maintenance operations to meet client! expectations. These expectations include leadership for implementation of incident free focused safety programs, quality, cost / schedule, financial and operational responsibility for maintenance and small capital project execution in an operating refinery. This includes the development and nurturing of client relationships that is based on delivering measurable value that promotes continuing relations and increased market share. Individual is responsible for administering contracts in accordance with policies and procedures for the maximum benefit of the company and the client.

Technical/Functional Responsibilities:

  • Is the principal point of contact with the owner on all matters related to the work and contract
  • Provides leadership to site supervision, craft and subcontractors on all matters related to the work.
  • Assists management in the identification, screening and hiring of staff personnel essential to the skill requirement! s at the site.
  • Champions safety program and assures c! ompliance with owner HSE processes
  • Creates an environment that achieves employee engagement in all aspects of our operations to deliver Zero Incident HSE performance and quality workmanship.
  • Builds productive and collaborative labor relations in a union direct hire environment
  • Establishes and maintains day-to-day communications and close working relationship with client representative to ensure owner satisfaction and achievement of performance metrics.
  • Works with client to develop performance metrics that are directly related to the owner’s success criteria. Evaluates data and applies TQM approach to improve performance.
  • Participates in planning and development activities; assists in preparation of execution plans, proposals, estimates, technical evaluations, and budgets
  • Assists in periodic review of contracts and supports negotiation of any change orders approved by company management
  • Leads the team to identi! fy opportunities for continuous improvement. Offers solutions to unique and systemic problems, develops implementation plans and establishes metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of performance enhancement processes.
  • Drives positive change in both the Owner’s organization. Must be able to push back constructively when direction or actions from the client are not in their best interest.
  • Reaches back to provide technical, maintenance optimization and capital project effectiveness options to the owner.
  • Staffs assigned projects with qualified salaried and craft personnel; supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders
  • Responsible for developing individual development plans. Recommends salaried rate changes to senior management and assists in renegotiation of craft wage rate changes if and when called upon to do so
Provides direction to subordinates based on general policies and management guidance. Individual accompl! ishes tasks through supervision of experienced employees who exercise s! ignificant latitude and independence in their assignments. Work is evaluated against measurable goals and objectives. Interprets and executes policies that affect subordinates. Leads the team and functions as an advisor to them regarding tasks, projects, and operations. Individual is actively involved in daily operations in order to insure that safety, quality, budget and schedule targets are met. Tackles and resolves complex problems related to work planning, execution and support services. Individual maintains frequent contact with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings.

10+ years of related experience with 6-10 years at the Site Manager level. Must be a High School Graduate or equivalent, BA/BS preferred. Computer literate a must.
