Description: Billings Clinic is in need of Release of Information Specialist right now, this vacancy will be dwelled in Montana. Responsible for coordinating centralized requests for release of information for all areas within Billings Clinic where records are maintained (i.e., hospital and clinic records,! radiology, lab systems, etc.). Responsibilities include review of all written and verbal requests for release of information to ensure the validity of the request and the authorization to release the requested information are in compliance and adherence with all regulatory requirements and guidelines and Billings Clinic policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) desirable.
Six months of medical records release of information experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above will be considered.
This person will be responsible for entering, processing and quality checking release of information requests, answering release of information phone calls and general phone calls, using multi line phones, working one to o! ne with patients and their release of information requests, pr! ocessing records for audits and possibly for attorneys. Need to be able to multi-task, high customer service and phone etiquette.
