In-house Attorney Duties: provides legal advice and support for company's and its various departments to reso! lve complex legal and compliance issues, draft and review contracts and compliance manuals, assist in the development of new products and services, provide analysis of legislative developments, and respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies and other outside parties. Reviews and redlines contracts, vendor contracts, administrative service agreements, and network agreements. Coordinates with various company's department managers and executives to lead negotiating efforts with regard to terms with vendors, networks, employers, and healthcare providers. Negotiates agreements and discounting arrangements with healthcare providers (facilities, physicians, and other ancillary providers). Coordinates as necessary with company's Claims Department, Provider Services Department, other company's staff and external vendors of company's or company's client employers. Subrogates claims by pursuing and collecting from other liability coverage for participant claims, including under ins! ured/uninsured motorist coverage, homeowners' and business pre! mises liability, and malpractice coverage. Pursues and collects on over payments from providers and participants Files claims and collects from class action lawsuits on behalf of group health plans. Tracks, monitors and provides guidance as necessary on various legislative matters, state and federal regulatory changes. Provides assistance to internal company's departments and staff,company's client employers and brokers and develops client memorandums and training materials as necessary. Provides research and expertise for resolution of group health plan related issues for company's departments, including but not limited to Account Management, Claims, Eligibility, and Stop Loss. Provides research support and drafting assistance to Plan Document Specialists,company's client employers, and brokers and other company's staff to resolve group specific issues and benefit questions regarding various client employer plans. Provides legal assistance to support departments to meet th! e needs of the business. Evaluates the impact of changes in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and assesses the impact on policies and operating procedures. Advises company's clients on complying with regulatory changes. Litigation and Dispute Resolution Support. Provides support, research and oversight as necessary, for defense of company's in various dispute-related matters, including litigation. Provides support and expertise, as necessary, in various company's client related matters, including company's client-related plan appeals, stop loss carrier disputes, member or provider complaints, and/or state or federal agency request and audits. Acts as a role model in demonstrating the core values in customer service delivery. Provides timely and thorough follow up with, internal and external customers. Appropriately escalates difficult issues up the chain of command. Serves on committees, work groups, and/or process improvement teams, as assigned, to assist in i! mproving quality/customer satisfaction. Recognizes and alerts appropria! te supervisor of trends within their scope of responsibility that fall outside of quality parameters. Performs self quality monitoring in order to develop and execute plans to meet established goals. Provides ongoing feedback to help optimize quality performance. Collaborates with others and cross-departmentally to improve or streamline procedures. Minimum Qualifications: Law degree and a license to practice law in the state hired. 3+ years' experience in ERISA law preferred. Legal writing experience. Working knowledge of current laws and regulations related to group health plans. Working knowledge of computers and software including but not limited! to Microsoft Office products. Proficiency with typing skills. Demonstrated organizational skills, problem-solving, analytical skills and detail oriented. Strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize workloads multi-task and manage priorities in order to meet deadlines. Must have a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance. Some occasional travel away from home is required. Closing Date: 29 September, 2013.
