The Justice Information Technology Services Division (JITSD) serves the Montana Department of Justice (DOJ) Attorney General and provides vital Information Technology (IT) infrastructure upon which Montanans and local and state law enforcement agencies rely for timely, accurate information. JITSD manages the IT systems, services, and interfaces to support nearly 800 DOJ employees, 325 statewide county motor vehicle system users, and over 3,000 Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) users across the state. JITSD’s work directly supports the citizens of Montana and the DOJ staff who are involved in legal cases involving the State and its people, missing persons, victim services, children’s justice, consumer protection, criminal investigations, highway safety, motor vehicle operations, gambling control, criminal history information, and forensic laboratory services. Our mission to enhance operations and efficiency with IT in the pursuit of the DOJ mission is challenging, exciting, and rewarding, both professionally and personally.
Job Overview: This position is responsible for planning, developing, and administering major Department applications and network systems; developing and implementing technical assistance services; developing and administering system security plans; implementing interfaces between Department and other agency information systems, including federal systems, as well as network and network security systems. Additionally, this position will serve in a rotating 24x7 on-call status in support of mission-critical applications. This is a modified position and continuation of this position is contingent upon funding. Please see the full Job Description for a complete list of duties.
This is a temporarily funded position with no expected end date.
Qualifications
:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field and three (3) to four (4) years’ experience.
Prefer training in network analysis and design, and information systems security.
Prefer 3-4 years of progressively responsible network analysis and development experience; One or more years of progressively responsible network security planning and implementation experience.
Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
