This position is responsible for actively leading the benefit intent conversations during customer implementations related to new business, renewals, plan additions and plan changes for Key Accounts. The position is part of the Proposal Services and Implementation (PSI) organization, which has overall responsibility for the implementation of Key Account clients.
We offer 4-6 weeks of paid training. The core hours of training typically take place between 8:00am to 5:00pm CST, Monday to Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday to Friday. Employees are required to have the flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 6:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Overall management and coordination of employer health plan benefits. The Benefit Consultant is responsible for accurately capturing benefit intent, educating the customer on UHC standards, and responding to benefit questions. The Benefit Consultant will document and maintain the customer’s benefit intent through completion of the Benefit Template Builder (BTB) and collaborate with internal and external business partners to ensure employer health plan benefits are set up accurately and expeditiously.
- Act as the primary point of contact, regarding benefit intent, plan changes and customer funding changes.
- Detail and capture customer plan design requirements and provide proactive solutions to non-standard benefit requests while ensuring system compatibility.
- Audit Sales documents for adherence to quality measures and reporting standards. Request and follow up with all parties for documents required for the implementation.
- Facilitate benefit intent meetings with the customer.
- Preparation of plan materials including the BTB and Benefit Summaries.
- Ability to independently research and resolve complex issues related to benefits, claim process, regulatory requirements, healthcare reform and State Mandates and develop customer specific resolutions.
- Actively participate in cross-functional teams or projects.
- Represent internal/external Benefit Intent Audit activities. Responsibility to professionally represent PSI and UHC, accurately update all documents where errors may have been discovered and expeditiously submit the corrected documents to our Business Partners for correction.
- Maintain inventory reports, timely status updates and TAT requirements to meet department, team and individual MBO
- Other duties as required to support the customer implementation process
- Work overtime as needed during Open Enrollment Season (November – January); typically, 10 – 15 hours weekly

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
- Experience in a customer service-related environment
- Understanding of the healthcare industry, products and medical benefits within each product
- Proficiency using a computer and Windows PC applications including strong keyboard and navigation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word (create/edit/read/write documents)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (create/edit/read/write spreadsheets)
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint (create/edit/read/write documents, and presentation slides)
- Ability to work overtime during peak periods for several weeks at a time primarily during the fourth quarter
- Ability to work full-time, Monday – Friday between 8:00am – 6:00pm CST including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree (or higher)
- Project Management experience or has participated on projects with specific assignments and timelines to meet
- Knowledge and understanding of Medical Terminology

- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
