Required for the first day of work:
- Knowledge of legal research methods and techniques, including use of LEXIS, Westlaw, and the i! nternet.
- Knowledge of administrative review procedures, all as! pects of the Montana Administrative Procedures Act (MAPA), and judicial review procedures.
- Ability to analyze difficult legal problems and synthesize a course of action.
- Ability to maintain an effective relationship with persons in their immediate work group and throughout the department.
- Ability to develop a level of confidence among the individuals they are providing legal advice.
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law as an attorney in Montana in both state and federal courts.
- Three yearsâ experience in civil or criminal litigation.
